Melioration (subsoiling) of 80% of the field: • Machine: NHS NewAge T4 with compact roller • Tractor: Case Puma 240 • Spear test before start: approx. 10cm • Full improvement in longitudinal direction • Standard working depth (approx. 55cm) • Speed hampered by the size of the area – estimated approx. 4-6 km/h • Test hindered by partly surrounding rapeseed and partly pile of gravel in the area. • On the eastern long side, rubble and stones appear. Signs of filling. • All spring bolts are intact after the work. • Spear test after improvement: 30-50cm

• We contact the landowner for an agreement on full melioration (tilling) of the field from end to end in an approx. 20 meter wide belt with test field 1 in the middle. • The goal is to be able to demonstrate a difference – not just in a problem field, but also to show the difference in the crops when meliorated (tilled) area is compared to a non-tilled area. • In practice, the difference will be an increased (deeper) cultivation layer in the meliorated field soil. • In short, the plant's root system must be able to develop better and thus reach deeper into the cultivation layer • Long-term difference must be read in the length of the plant roots, which will show the individual plant's ability to grow in dry periods. • In short, the plant must develop better – reach further – set a better yield. • The landowner gives full permission and also informs that the field must be sown with wheat immediately after harvest. • Tests must be carried out after harvest / before sowing wheat
